Troubleshooting

If something isn't working with your EL:IN, there are a few common faults that could be the cause. Please check these five common faults before contacting customer service.

  1. Check that your WiFi router supports communication on the 2.4 GHz band. EL:IN will not be able to connect to networks that communicate over a different frequency.
  2. If the distance to your WiFi router is too great, EL:IN may have difficulty getting a stable connection. This can also occur if the signal needs to pass through materials such as metal, brick, or concrete.
  3. If WiFi settings are changed, EL:IN will require reconfiguration. To do this, press and hold the reset button for approximately 5 seconds. You can then connect your EL:IN to the app by following the steps in the configuration again.
  4. If EL:IN has been connected to your electricity meter for over 10 seconds and you still do not see any status from the LED indicator, it may be because your electricity meter cannot supply enough power to EL:IN. If you are using the RJ12 version of EL:IN, you can connect a USB-C cable next to the RJ12 cable to provide extra power.
  5. For EL:IN to be able to read data from your electricity meter, the HAN port must be activated. To activate it, you can contact your grid operator. Note that your grid operator and electricity supplier are not necessarily the same company.
